My journey into the green industry started when I was 9 years old. My family lived in Bland, MO where I started mowing several of the neighbor’s yards. I grew up on a farm and have been around agriculture most of my life.
At the age of 13 my parents made the decision to move to Jefferson City. I continued to do lawn care after the move. I had several customers of my own and worked for Handy Sandy Lawn Care. After high school I took a job at a factory and held many different positions over the next 9 years. I learned many skills such as welding, tooling, and equipment maintenance. During this period, I also worked in the construction industry during the day. We did everything from remodeling to new construction of residential homes.
In 2005, my wife Sarah and I started Boulder Creek Lawn & Landscape. Sarah has a degree in Horticulture from SMSU in Springfield, MO. With her knowledge of plants and landscape design, and my background in construction, we never looked back. In 2019 we opened Boulder Creek Garden Center. It has been a crazy adventure and a lot of fun!

I graduated in 2000 from MU with a degree in Plant Science with an emphasis on Landscape Design. After graduation, I continued my career journey as an installation crew member. I proceeded to lead several crews, specializing in water features and natural stone walls. After a few years, my skills evolved to include designing and bidding landscape projects, which I did for the next 10 years. The next leg of my journey took me to a garden center where I used the skills that I had learned to help customers lay out and develop their garden spaces.
After 13 years of working there, I was given the opportunity to help Boulder Creek open their new Garden Center. I look forward to helping plan more gardens and landscapes and this next leg of the journey continues.

I am excited to work at Boulder Creek Lawn and Landscape. I grew up in Springfield, MO. I have lived in Jefferson City for 35 years and my two daughters grew up here. After working in the Cosmetology and Restaurant Management fields for many years I took a part-time job at Green Horizons Garden Center leading me to discover my new passion. I worked there full-time for 10 years and found it so interesting.
I immersed myself in the industry, and I continue to take every opportunity to learn more. I love to try new plants in my own garden beds at home. Come let me help you find what best suits your needs for trees, shrubs and perennials.

I made my start in the green industry at 9 years old mowing lawns and doing yard work. After that I was hooked, I continued to provide lawn services until I graduated high school. After that I decided to continue my education with an associates degree in commercial turf and grounds management from State Tech. Upon completion of my degree, I was a commercial turf and plant health care applicator for a company at the lake of the Ozarks.
After gaining valuable experience in turf and plant care at the lake I made the jump to Boulder Creek in the spring of 2018. Since then, I have helped manage and maintain properties that we care for, and installations of landscapes. With the exciting opening of the garden center I look forward to being able to help people find what they need to complete their landscape and garden projects. I have always had a passion for the green industry and plants in general, and love to share that passion while getting my hands dirty.
